foster: I am going to enlighten you guys on my thoughts, here goes. At this hour in this whole thread, only Nebraska Cowman has opened up his e mail address. It is my opinion, there should be no hidden e mail addresses on a public forum. I don't buy this damn bunk, that your shutting out scammers and other undesirables. It is either a cowardly way of saying something, or you don't want the return e mails coming in on the computer at work. I have over 30,000 posts here at YT, and my e mail has been exposed on 99% of them. I don't get anywhere near the junk mail, I hear most folks complaining about. When I advertise something, I never get someone wanting to pay me twice what it's worth, and have to give 50% to one of his buddies. Every damn one of my posts has been done on Hugh MacKay's time.

IF YOU WANT TO SPEALK TO THE WORLD, THEN THE WORLD SHOULD BE ABLE TO CONTACT YOU PERSONALLY. I don't think I need enlighten you a whole lot more on what I think.

Hugh, I think that unless there needs to be a private discussion between two individuals -- I have done that -- that the subject in question should be out in the open, with or without email. The problem, though, with it all available to everyone is that there is sometimes an individual such as Nat 2 who insists on messing up a thread. Perhaps then a knowledgeable person who wants to help should contact the individual privately. Merely a difference of opinion. I don't think there is anything wrong with the way either of us does it. By the way, you and me are tied. Prior to this post, I have been involved in 30101 posts. HOWEVER, that is not the number of actual responses by me or you, I believe that is the total number of posts in a thread that we have been involved in.

Some people use knowledge and honesty like a club. The trouble is that outside our areas of expertise we are idiots and our honesty is 99% opinion.

I think Nat has a bad case of "Octorectosis"...it's when your eyes and your rear end get mixed up and you get a shi**y outlook on life. Then again maybe he feels better about himself by giving smart a** answers to others. Just my 2 cents

Being young does not give you the right to be a jack butt. I'm 28, and try to help people, not put them down, it has gotten to where I don't click on a post if I see nat 2 has responded. People who come here need help, not someone to tell them to "search the archives" and "don't waste our time." I do agree that the archives are awsome, I have found every answer save a couple I have looked for there, but I have been on this site for three years and I know my way around. I read this board every day, and I learn something everyday. I put in where I know something about the topic. I think that is what 99% of us do. I know there are a lot of newbies out there who appreciate the help, and I also know that there a lot of newbies out there that come here once and never come back again because of rudeness. That is a shame. Like my Dad always said: There is one in every group.

Alright boys now let it fly at me.

'Couse, I have a heck of a time expressing my opinion too.

Most of the time he is at least close to being right, but he never admits it when he is proven wrong. I have made some statements that I was absolutely beyond a doubt sure of. Been proven wrong several times -- I admit it and go on with life. Nat 1, or 2, or whatever acts kind of like a know-it-all kid, and could learn to express himself better if he tried. Actually, he does express himself better than he used to, but seems to be reverting back to his old ways, or perhaps his young ways -- I imagine he feasts on these type of posts, and probably should be pitied.

Oy, you are so wrong... Nothing chaps my butt more than posts like this, when uptight people take what I post the wrong way.

Yes, I have little patience for people who wail and moan about not having any mechanical aptitude. There is no such thing. Anybody can take anything apart, fix it, and put it back together if they take their time and apply their brain cells. Instead of wallowing in self pity, pick up a wrench...

BTW, yes I used to be Nat, but there was another Nat that apparently had the name before me, so I moved permanently to Nat 2. Oddly enough, we were using the same reserved name password! Before that, I'm sure I played with a few screen names trying to come up with an identity, but that was a while ago and I certainly don't recall what I used...

As far as the right/wrong thing... Huh? I think I've been corrected maybe a handful of times since I've been here, and I don't recall ever putting up a fuss about it. You got really snotty with me on one occasion as I recall. Not really sure why. I proved with logic and facts that I was right in that case as I recall.

Pity me if you wish, but believe me, you are wasting your time.

I really don't think he think's he is hard on people. He understands tractors pretty well but has little patience for those who don't understand as much as he does. It is always a real trial and credit for this group of people when they don't jump on him when he is wrong like he seems to jump on others when they are mistaken.

Sometimes we truly have different experiences about the same problem so there are two correct but different answers. You see this when the tractor vet and Hugh McKay disagree.

So my suggestion is he is either old and set in his ways, tired of people who don't really wish to learn or he is young and foolish enough to believe he knows it all. That's the way he comes across.

I personally find his replies humorous, and sure enough, you can learn from him just as you can learn from everyone who posts. The experts are always offering some new tidbit and the novices are looking at the world through a totally different perspective. It is refreshing.

nat 2 adds a little pepper to the sugar and salt on this table, hopefully those offended will get over it and just be glad they are not his next door neighbor.

That's just the way he is, have no idea why. Gunpowder for breakfast, maybe? I believe he has been on this forum under at least three names the past few years, I have no proof of that except the way he expresses himself. Other people will give you decent answers -- don't go away.

I think he has answered any questions that I have asked with pretty good answers. He is sharp on the old Farmalls and answered several questions about an old C I have, and I also think he has a good name.
