Have been thinking about this for sometime. I would like to make some sort of lever to hand operate the the foot clutch on my H. Main reason is that my wife is a short person and it would be easier for her. I was thinking I might be able to mount some sort of pivot on the transmission cover and attach a lever to it with a rod to the clutch pedal. Anybody modified a H this way.

If you do make a hand clutch take a cue from the manufacturers and incorporate an over-center mechanism so it will stay engaged but can be disengaged quickly with just a push or pull.

Detents and spring loaded buttons can stick and kill someone.

I'd have to side with Gene on this, hand clutches are somewhat dangerous. Yes for injured or missing legs, No for short legs.

Yes,I have desined a hand clutch, using a T.A. lever.....I lost my left leg above the knee, so a hand lever for the clutch is the only answer....

I am putting this lever on a: Farmall H and M ;Allis G AND john DEERE LA.....

The lever can be locked in or used free.....the T.A. handles look right at home on the FARMALLs....

just bolt a block of wood to the pedal so her short legs can push it easier.

It can be done. I would not make it so that it blocked the foot clutch, or always moved when the foot clutch was moved. Further, I would not make it so that it would lock. or detent in the released (clutch down) position. It would be hard on the throughout bearing, and dangerous as well.
Go for it. JimN
