I took my M to a tractor pull this weekend. After I borrowed a Mag from a friend it ran great. It figures the Mag would die 4 hours before the pull. I changed the points but it didn't fix it. I have to much power for my tires.

Yeah...too much power..hmmm

Wait till you get on a good black gumbo track or something. My M would churn the tires and take off great in 4th gear on the sandy loam track acouple weeks ago. Last weekend on a bad to the bone, tires wont spin for nothing track, I had a hard time locking the clutch up in 3rd. Tracks are really different.

Glad to hear you are having fun with it, though. My third pull is this weekend, and I am loving it since I got the bugs worked out.

Chris

Too much power? Or not enough weight? Try letting some air out out of those tires. The next track you pull on might be a whole different story.

Did that. I ran the 5000 pound class with 5PSI on six ply tires. The hole convex shaped and it spun out without the engine bogging down at all. I need wider tires I'd say. Not enough traction right? Oh and that was in third gear. I pulled 6000 pound class with 7.5 Psi and spun out quicker. My gov isn't surging at all it just picks up the load. I think it's a traction thing.
