Howdy fellers,I have developed a leak out of the throttle shaft between the block and governor housing.I have an extra governor off another engine and wanted to go through it and swap them out so I can keep using my H for all my chores.I know its not supposed to be to complex of a repair but can someone tell me where I can get a seal for the throttle cross shaft.I wanted to get an idea of where to start and also about the cost of the repair.I would just swap them out but I want to be sure I have no leaks. Also can an outer axle seal be purchased at NAPA or other automotive sources, got the last seals at CIH dealer and it cost nearly forty dollars thought that was sorta steep....RBF

There is a place local here that can cross match the numbers for me and get anything I want in the seal department and, the last one I bought was $6.00 vs $32.00 at the dealership!!!! If you dont have this available to you, let me have the seals and I will get them for you. It is good to work off a number...but if that fails...he measures and gets me something.

I am lucky in that there is a bearing/seal specialty place where I can get any seal or bearing I want. The seals are 25-50% less than CIH, the seals are identical, either National or Chicago Rawhide. NAPA can get them, if you can find an employee that knows what you are talking about. I have had the governor off my Super H, and disassembled as part of the refurbishing process I do on my tractors, nothing wrong with it to begin with -- been long enough that I don't remember the details, but there were no problems.
