I hope you guys can help me again? I put on a new sediment bowl and an in line fuel filter which goes to the carb, but I can't get fuel to the fuel filter hardley any gas, let alone getting it to the carb. When I pull of the tubing to the filter at the sediment bowl end the gas flows fine. My neighbor rebuilt a deer and he is having the same problem can't get gas to the fuel filter.
Thanks,
Bob

Some inline filters may not work with gravity flow but I have inline filter only on my A and inline filter plus sediment bowl on my M and both have been running for years often at full throttle fully loaded with no problem.

Thanks again for your input, I will change out fuel filter with a gravity drain style. The tractor came with this inline filter, not sure if it's for auto or tractor? I know the lines arent pluged, because its all new hose and tubing. I did take out the screen at the top of the sediment bowl since there is an inlin filter. I do appreciate all your comments.
Bob

You guys are badly misinformed on the gravity fuel filters. Have two mowing tractors that have been running for several years with them. I use the FRAM little see-thru with 5/16 line.

Well you might or might not have a problem. First off Reddog is right in line filters made for cars/trucks don't work well/long on a tractors because they are made to work with 7-15PSI of fuel preassure which you don't have. Now if your carb is full of gas, and you then dump your sediment bowl, then turn on the gas guess what happens. The sediment bowl will not fill up with gas. Why does it do that well it has no place to go because the needle in the carb is closed and you have air in the line and the gas will not push the air out till the float drops and the carb wants more gas. But if you still think thats a problem pull the drain plug from the carb and see what happens. If the line isn't clogged then you will see the sediment bowl fill with gas and then the filter till it gets just a very little junk in it and then you will have trouble. BTDT and I throw all of them away when I get a tractor in that has one on it

If the inline filter was made for a pressurized fuel system it won"t work on a gravity feed system. You will most likely need to get an inline filter made for a small engine, gravity feed system.
