The donor tractor for the block I have had this number on it "FBH 291125 X 1" I am having trouble tranlating this or maybe it is in error?

CNKS told you everything. Did the X1 part throw you? If so, the X1 means that it is gasoline only.

Prefix, suffix and the number itself are legitimate, why do you doubt it? 1948 H with a gasoline engine.

Why do I doubt it? I can only say, in my defense, that I just did not know...fortunately you can cure stupid by asking knowledgeable people questons (but not old and ugly):-)
