I have a Farmall 300 that has gotten stuck between gears before, but this time I can't move the slides at all. I take the gear shifter off and it looks stuck between 1st & 2nd. The 4/5 slide move just fine, but 2/3 and 1/R won't no matter how hard I pry or pound. What can I try next?

take the gear shift lever out . I have used a recking bar and line up the shifting forks.use a flash light to know witch way you have to go.....GOOD LUCK.

Jack up one or both wheels and get the strain off of her. Sounds like it might be on uneven ground keeping pressure on the gears.

I have already tried jacking it up so both tires are off the ground and then having other people rock the wheels with the clutch in. I am out of ideas; Thanks!

Chris: Another trick that can work for this is, use another vehicle for an anchor and using a set of comealongs pull forward or reverse on tractor. Try one and if that doesn't work try the other. You really should have two people one working on slides as the other guy tightens the comealongs. Not guarenteeing it work, but quite often does.

I'll put it this way,"I've had this work when all else fails." Even had it happen one day with not many tools around. Hooked the Farmall 130 to 300 and with a snug chain, my helper turned the hand crank of 130 in low gear, while I poped the gears out.

Sure hope you don't have to pull that top cover off.
Let it set a few days and cool off...sometimes that helps too...not the tractor...your frustration. Been there...done that
