i need some help please!! i have an h i got new battery and batt terminal wires for and i was cranking her and she tried going about 3 times. then i remebered "forgot to turn on fuel", so i did that, and then i got up again and tried and nothing. battery shows it is charging and have power to it, but nothing happens and i know engine is free, and starter is good, so could the kill switch to the mag be the problem?? if not, please lend advice, open to any suggestions. THANKS A LOT!!!!!

Not sure of what you are saying...butI gather it will not turn over after you put new battery terminal wires on it. I suspect that is your problem...I dont know the numbers but you cannot use the small wires on a 6 volt system. you need the large wire--about 1/2 inch in diameter...some of the other guys here know the proper gage wire.

Is the engine turning over? If not, you may have a stuck starter. Loosen the two bolts that hold the starter annd if it's stuck it will break free. Then tighten the starter and try it.

neb cowman,

honestly, i don't know, but a friend told me u should get spark if you have both poles of the push starter button together and i am not getting that, i don't know what else to do. batt/starter good, where else could the problem be, the generator has a wire unhooked, but what could that do with the battery turning the engine over? thanks again!!

It sounds like you have a poor battery connection.

Ryan, all the mag kill switch does is ground the mag to stop the spark. What exactly is your trouble. Internal combustion engines are real simple.
