I am looking at a 1941 Farmall A which has decent sheet metal but hasn't ran for awhile. The owner has let it set a couple of years and now the motor is "locked". Should I pass or is it salvageable? What would be a fair offer to give? Thanks

How good are the rear tires?? If they are good to very good the price will be higher. I buy a lot of tractors like the one your talking about and have had good luck with some and bad luck with some. Now as far as being able to save it yes you should be able to or if not be able to sell parts off it. My self I would offer around $150 to start with and see where it goes, you can always go up but you can never come down. I have payed from $150-500 for a tractor like that but I wouldn't pay more then $500 unless the rear tires and almost new. Also if you do buy it pull one plug at a time blow out the cylinder and then fill with tranny fluid. Do each cylinder one at a time and be sure to put the plug back in and hook up the plug wire so as not to get it out of time as far as the fireing order.
