I have an International 240 Utility. The cylinder for the rear lift leaks. The book says there is a kit - Part number 363 137 R92 that has the seals and stuff to rebuild this. Is this still available or are these o'rings commen sizes that I could find at an auto parts store? There isn't an IH dealer around here.
thanks for the help - David

Agri Supply has hydraulic cylinders for around $55.00 My IH 240 U has a 8" stroke. If it ever heads South I'll buy one of the imported cylinders before rebuilding it. I still need to know how to wire a 6V gas gauge after converting the tractor to 12V negative ground. GA Dave.

Dave I believe the gauge will work on 6 or 12 volt.

Thanks IaGary. I would like a little more info before wiring it. Do you send 12V to the sending unit in the tank and back to the gauge or vice versa? Any replies ? Dave.

Don't know what tractor this is on but 12v or 6v hot wire generally goes to the gauge from the switch and its just a ground wire between the gauge and sending unit.

The hot voltage does not travel to the sending unit.

When changing to neg ground you shouldn't have to change any wires, because the lead going to the gauge from the switch will automatically become pos.from the change you made at the battery.

All gauges that I know of are ground to the sending unit from the gauge. And hot to the switch.

Hope this makes scense.

Inother words just change at the battery and leave the other wires as they were.

Gary

Where are you at in Northern MN? I rebuilt all the cylinders on my 300 utility, got everything I needed at Northwest Power Systems, Thief River Falls, MN 218-681-5282. I just took in the old O rings, seals, leathers etc and they pulled new off their shelf.

I am near Grand Rapids. I was just wondering if the o'rings are off the self items. I don't think this one has any leathers. Thanks for answering.
