I'm shopping, and this one has caught my eye (listing #280001174546). I remember some discussion here last year about this model being rare. Any ideas as to what a 'good deal' might be for this unit? Thanks.

Somebody needs to grab that 966 in Pennsylvania too. Talk about a nice straight-ahead old tractor that wouldn' take a heck of a lot to put 'er right!

If it wasn't so darned far away, I'd be on that one!

The 826 is the same way. Just a good clean old tractor, even if it is a gasser. She's worth an easy $5500 entry bid, just the way it sets.

Be aware tho, it will eat ya alive in fuel costs. They are hungry! :>(

Not trying to be flippant here but:

1) The more you pay, the more it's worth.

2) Rare does not necessarily equate to valuable. Sometimes rare just means the manufacturer didn't make many because nobody was silly enough to buy them. O,r everybody that bought one, hated them, unloaded them quickly and most of them have been recycled in the years since.

3) I'm not necessarily saying the 826 gas Hydro in question fits into #2 above, I'm just pointing out the differences between "rare" and "valuable" or "collectable."
