"I thought" that one could look on the back side of the rod and main bearings and see if they are standard, 10 over or 20 over, so I looked and found the following text and numbers on 4 lines:

"c IH (the logo) 002
7 6 F 23
355268-R1
Made in USA"

Does anyone have any insight into how to interpret this? Standard?

I used .002" undersize bearings on a Farmall A. The crankshaft only needed to be polished. You should have that shaft measured at your local auto machine shop. I think .003" undersize bearings are available too. If your shaft is worn beyond these limits they may need to grind your shaft to .010" undersize and these bearings are available too. Hal

The 76 should stand for the year 1976 when the bearing was made so sometime around 1976 they were rolled in if that interests you.

your bearings are two thousands of an inch undersize for use on a slightly worn crankshaft.

Forgive me for not understanding...exactly...but again "I thought" that you could only get these bearings in increments of 10 thousants and not understanding how someone could find 2 thousants???

Tom,
The H I'm working on also had .002 main & rod bearings. It probably only had one bearing replacement during it's working life. I had to have the crank turned to .010 undersize when I rebuilt it. ken
