Hello Folks. Could someone tell me how to increase the horse power on my Farmall 'C". I need more power to operate a brush hog through tall, thick grass. Maybe If I could increase the RPM'S at the PTO this would help. Thanks All!

I have a Super C that pulls a 5" Brush Hog pretty well. But I have to run it wide open in second gear, or even first to really cut thick brush. And I have to keep the blades sharp or it really draws the engine speed down. So, suggestions for you?

1. Keep the blades on the brushhog sharp.
2. Get a bigger tractor.
3. Get a smaller brushhog. Maybe 4" diameter for a Farmall C.
4. Rebuild the engine with the Super C pistons and cylinders, increasing the cubic inches, and horsepower. Also need to add a water pump to keep it cool.
5. Check to see of the governor speed is up to spec.
6. Make sure everything is greased and oiled well.
