Could be that someone took off the chrome numbers & put decals from a 303 combine on it?

Maybe someone put a 303 combine engine in a 460(?) tractor and decided to complete the conversion.

John: If you are in North America there has never been an IH series ending with 03. Several 30 as in the 130, 230 and 330.

That may differ if you are in Europe or Australia, they had separate production lines and used different model numbers.

John,

He probably means a 330. I think that was the updated version of the 300 utility, wasn't it?

Instead of using the 350 designation like Farmall did, they used 330 for the Internationals?

Allan: There was a 350U as well as 330U. 350U had basically same specs as 300U, except for a few more cubic inches. The 330U was intended as a lower hp tractor and used the C-135 engine. This tractor had much the same specs as the later 340, built both as Utility and Farmall.

There are several major differences between the 350U and the 300U, engine size being only one of them. The 300U had the C169 engine, the 350U had the C175. The clutches were mounted differently with the 300U pivoting in front of the clutch and the 350U pivoting underneath the driver. The fast hitches were different. And there were a few other, less significant differences such as the stock steering wheel and of course the white accent paint (really decals) on the 350U.

Don: I'd hardly call those significant differences. IH made more changes than that on each individual model of letter series tractor, during production runs. In fact I can think of a couple of changes on 300 and 350 that did not occur at model change.

If he's really bad with numbers it could be a 404.

330's were only built as a Utility, and would not have the name Farmall on them anywhere, and would not have a narrow front. 404's don't often have 38's on the back. I'd guess it's a 300.

Possible. Give us any little detail you can. Describe that square grille and sheetmetal in as much detail as possible. Go to the photo section of this site and check out pictures of 300"s, 350"s, 340"s, ect. How many speeds does the transmission have? How many cylinders does the engine have- is it a gas or a diesel? Any numbers such as C-135 or D-166 cast into the engine block?
