I'M TRYING TO REPAIR (REPLACE) THE GAUGES ON MY '48 C. CAN ANY ONE TELL ME WHERE THE LEAD FOR THE WATER TEMP GAUGE ROUTES FROM THE GAUGE TO THE FRONT OF THE TRACTOR? ALSO WHERE EXACTLY DOES THE SENDER SCREW IN? THIS TRACTOR DOES HAVE A WATER PUMP.
ALL I HAVE PRESENTLY IS A BROKEN GAUGE IN THE INSTUMENT PANEL WITH THE LEAD CUT OFF.
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED

The sender unit screws into the thermostat housing on right handside of engine use below the upper radiator hose,(thermostat and upper radiator hose housing, which bolts to front of motor). HTH

Thanks for the info and the great pic. Do you know where/how the lead from the gauge was routed?

I have also got the same problem and am interested in finding out where the capillary tube is routed. I have a new gauge to go in when I"m finished doing some work on the engine. I"ve looked at all the photos in the Owner"s Manual and the nearest thing I can see is that it crosses over from the right hand side to the left side in front of the Touch-Control unit, but would like to have more detail.
Sid.
