Does a farmall 200 have enough power to mow a lawn with a 72" finish mower. What if the grass is a little on the heavy side? Thanks.

I think you'll be fine with a 72" finish mower if your 200 is in good tune. I "assume" you have a 3 pt conversion on your FashHitch.... If your grass is a tad high to start with, put the wheels on the finish mower as high as they will go and go over it. Once you have done this lower your wheels and do it again until you get the height you are looking fore. My bud has a good running SC that he runs a 84" Kioti finish mower at half throttle in 2nd gear and it cuts great (Mind you he's been cutting this grass for years so its well groomed. If you can't get the finish mower wheels high enough to ruff cut the grass, raise the mower some and go over it that way---very slowly as the front end can get very light with a big mower on the back. When you say "lawn", and you mean a good stand of true lawn grass that is maybe a couple of inches too tall, it will work. If you mean 2 foot tall weeds and grass, you better limit it to 60 inches. You can run in 1st gear or take a half swath. 1st gear is still too fast (lack of power) for tall grass and weeds. Finish mowers are not really made for bush hog type stuff. But if you just have a large lawn or a grassy lot that you like to keep neat, no problem. I have a 60 inch Woods on a somewhat anemic Super A that I use on my 1.5 acre "back lot". It works fine, but I don't let it get very tall.
