I see these sell on Ebay for $300+ made by M-W what do they really do? Does the tractor turn more RPM or just react faster? thanks for any help

They react faster. They do not add power. In tractor pulling when the throttle plate is wide open that's all the power you have. If you are allowed the pull the torque it may increase recovery rpm a little quicker. I have one on on an H that I farm with. When plowing it opens up a little quicker when you drop the plow and then open the throttle. If you start the load with full throttle that's all there is.

So is it just different weights or springs or what that makes it react quicker ? I've seen some advertised with 4 weights as opposed to two . Or maybe different levers with a quicker ratio ? I've never seen the inside of a governor so I'm here to learn something . Thanks ...Randy
