I am needing to check pressures on the PTO on my 1066. I recently replaced the rubber boot on top of control valve stem and did not realize when doing so that I could affect adjustment by moving valve adjustment nut and most likely did. Does it take a special fitting to screw in where the plug is to check pressures and set? I have manual and it spells out procedure but does not mention any special plug.

YEp , it sure does . In one of the I T manuals it gives ya the part # of that fitting and the only place to get it is from Case I H providing that they will sell it to you . Now if ya have the part # and ya have one real dumb parts guy tell him to order it and don't tell him what it is . Or if your real good at fabben things you can order the OEM plug drill a hole in it and weld a fitting on to it for a grease gun hose and add a fitting to the other end and get a GOOD 600 LBs pressure gauge and your good to go . Now when setting the pressure you MUST HAVE THE HDY.OIL TO OPERATING TEMP 150-180 degrees then set the lock up pressure . I set 1066- 1466 to around 265-285 , that way even if yours is tweaked you won't slip it . I made one up that way along time ago but i realy never trusted it as when playen with hdy. pressure one must be vary careful. And make sure that the half nut is in place to lock it to the square nut .
