I got the head rebuilt for my H an i currently have the oil pan off too. I was wondering if it is ok for me to rinse the motor out with kerosene just by dumping it over the top and letting it drain out the bottom? If this is alright is there any spots i should watch for it not to go or will it all come out?

Carefully scrape the carbon off the top of the pistons and vacuum out the excess. Remove the plate on the right side of the engine, along with the lifters (be sure to put them back in the original holes) and you will be able to get most of the glop out. As Janicholson says, don't pore the stuff down the cylinders. I usually use parts cleaner rather than kerosene. One problem with this: The inside of the block is coated with residue. Next to impossible to get it all out without just loosening part of it and not really removing it all. I would change the oil a couple of times after you get it going.

Squirting from underneath with a oilcan and using a brush would be ok, pouring it in from the top will dilute the oil on the cylinders, and I (personally) would not do it. Use a bottle, or tube brush and ream out passages as needed, but I would not drench it. Oil the cylinder walls before assembly, and when starting it, I would use a pump oilcan and pump the gallery full of new motoroil (many pumps with a rubber tube to the oilcan into the oilpressure sending port on the block.)
