I have been troubleshooting why when I get my tractor under a load, ie. mowing my pasture, it stalls out as if I were out of fuel. I have tried rebuilding the carb and fuel lines but no success. It runs great without a load. Does anyone have any suggestions? Could it be intake gaskets or a warped head? Thank you for your assistance.

Have seen plugged gas cap vent cause these symptoms cap leaks enough air into tank to keep gas flowing at no load condition but vaccuum forms in tank at high flow

I have tried removing the cap but still no luck. I am getting very discouraged.

I would try opening up the main fuel jet on the bottom a turn and try that. If not take the line of the carb and put an air gun to it and blow air as you turn the petcock on back into the tank. The little orfice that comes from the tank may be partially plugged not alowing enough fuel to get to the carb. Also have you checked the points for gap and make sure there good The plug gap also. JUST A FEW THINGS TO CHECK

Thank you, I have done all of that except the point gap. I did not think that would effect the load power.

Well, it can.

But take the drain off the carburetor and see how much gas comes out for a couple of minutes. You may have something floating around in the fuel tank which is plugging the opening. Or the gasket may be off the shutoff valve partially plugging the fuel flow. That one was tough to find. If the fuel flows good until the bowl is empty then slows dramatically you probably have a restriction.

Thank you for the advice. I have tried to run a direct line to the carb but did not do the check to see if flow at the drain drops off indicating a blockage. I am just afraid it may be manifold gaskets or a warped head. I guess I am just a pesimist.
