Farmall H with broken PTO and slipping MW Clutch

My PTO quit while pulling my Woods mower through my orchard. My hand clutch has been slipping and adjusting it hasn't helped. Last week I picked up a used transmission. Rather than swapping the whole thing, is there a pin in the PTO shaft that is fairly easy to access and replace? And,while I've looked at the posts on the M&W, can I just pull the M$W and slap in the replacement brake assembly from the other unit?

This isn"t going the way I thought it would. Got the old PTO shaft out and the gear at the end was indeed broken. Got the new one out of the parts transmission and it looks fine. Took the right brake assembly off the parts transmission, no problem. The MW Clutch doesn"t look anything like the one in the I&T manual. I guess I"m just not smart enough to look at a diagram of something that"s not on my tractor and figure out what I"m doing. Got all of the MW clutch off except the brake drum. It doesn"t turn but it looks like there are bolts under the flange holes which need to come off. How do I get at these?
Once I get the MW drum off, what"s next? The MW shaft is different than the one on the parts tranny. What exactly do I need to swap out? Any diagrams, help, and etc. would be greatly appreciated. The H is in the middle of the driveway blocking the garage door with the tip bucket half way off, the PTO assembly out, one fender off, cat litter all over to soak up the tranny fluid, the back of my pickup is full of really heavy H tranny parts, and my wife"s coming back from Florida at the end of the week.

Hello Marv, I have the same problem as fermier, I followed your directions and got everything loose, but still cant get that clutch off. Any idea what could be stopping it. I have the clutch apart the only thing left on the tractor is the housing the brake band rides on.
Thanks for any help,
Todd

I recently removed the M&W clutch from my recently purchased SMD. The unit was total junk.

To remove: > Remove the PTO unit.
> Remove the bolt that bolts the left bull gear to the left axel.
> Pull the left axel away from the bull gear. > Pull bull gear away from brake shaft housing.
> Remove the M&W kit.
> Move bull gear back into its original position.
> Slide left axel back into the bull gear.
> Screw bolt back into axel.
> Reinstall the PTO unit. > Install brake drum.

> I installed new seals and gaskets were applicable. Marv
