I recently visited some guys who had a lot of old tractors of all kinds. I ran across a particularly rare one, one that I had never seen before. It was an ID 40, the industrial version of the WD 40. The serial tag showed it was a 1938 model. It had the duals on one side, the other side was missing the dual. I am wondering if anyone would know how many of these were produced? I would also like to know what it might be worth. It has been sitting outside for probably 30 years and is missing the oil pan. The engine is probably stuck. Otherwise it is complete.

Have you asked the owner what the asking price is?
I bought an A that was in terrible shape and it came with a 16-inch moldboard plow for $100.00.
I had to replace the tires, rims, steering wheel,
seat, both fenders. The engine was seized too.
After about 6 months of work it looked and ran like new. I put in new sleeves and pistons, had the crankshaft polished and new bearings. That included lots of scraping and brushing and steam cleaning. Several coats of primer and acrylic enamel it looked like a different tractor. You can always come up in price if you think it's worth it. Hal
