The inner rim on the front of my H is broken out at one of the mounting bolts. can these be repaired or do I need to start looking for a new rim. If I have to locate a new rim any ideas I'm in southern MN

Hi Where in Mn are you ? I know a salvage yard about 40 miles from me that has those hubs just scattered all over the ground . Price would be reasonable and they ship too . Otherwise , maybe try ebay because some of those tractor jockey's part out perfectly running tractors just so they can make a couple dollars more off them . But that's a different whine with my beef ! Good luck ! ...Randy

Randy,
I'm in Prior Lake so northern Iowa isn't to far. Could you send me the phone number to your salvage yard.
Bob

If the rim is not too rusted out, prepping and welding the break is certainly possible. There is probably a welding school close to you that would assist in putting it in operation. Make sure there is enough material to get good penetration, and then it can be smoothed off to be less recognizable as a weld, Leave no snags on the inside to pierce the tube.

Hello Jim,
The part of the wheel I'm talking about is the inner wheel which is cast maybe the proper name would be the hub.

A broken Cast hub (term is correct) is more difficult to weld, but very possible. The best solution is a different one, they are pretty common in bone yards. The effort it would take would not be worth the difference in price. Plus it would be difficult to finish the weld to appearance satisfaction. Sorry JimN
