What kind of gains will i see with a M&W gov on my H with a freshend up head and rings, otherwise flat top pistons and stock H carb, it does have the good head, not the low compresion head.
Reason why i am asking is becuase there is one on ebay, i dont pull with my H much but im trying to load it up with all the accesories posible and i wouldnt mind some extra power options. What is it worth too?

Rusty has it right...

The only difference between the M&W and stock governors is the M&W has less droop - ie. it reponds quicker as load is applied. This makes the tractor feel a bit "snappier" under variable load conditions. However if you put it on a dyno you'll find an M&W gov alone provides no increase in power whatsoever.

The only reason you would want it would be as a collectible item. It will not add any power to your tractor. The M&W gov. was designed to respond to a sudden load quicker than a standard gov, which made the tractor feel more powerful and I guess would actually get you through the tough spots a little better. In a pulling situation it would not perform any better than a stock governor in good condition. I've seen those things sell on eBay before, and I always wished that I was the one selling it. If it were in excellent condition, it could go as high as maybe $500 or more, if it is in poor condition it will make a good paper weight.

It appears to be in fairly good condition, seller says everything moves freely as it is supose to, bidding is only at $255.

New parts for an original gov. can run up to about $600 so suit yourself.
