We just changed pistons, rings, and rod bearings in our Farmall Cub. It runs great but the oil pressure dropped to 10 psi. Did not change main bearings. Anyone have an idea what could be wrong.

Hey Don,

Hate to say it and I'm with the other guys on this one. Ya better yank 'er back down and do it right.

Oil pressure is governed mainly by the crankshaft clearances and to a lessor degree by the camshaft.

It's just not gonna last the way it is. :>(

You should plasti-gauge the rod and main bearings for clearance. Worn cam bearings can cause this problem too. You should've pull the engine and have an auto machine shop to dip the block, install new cam bearings and have them measure the crankshaft. It may have required undersize bearings. Hal

possibly cam brgs. , oil pump , oil, worn crank, hard to tell or know with that little info. changing rod brgs dont have much effect, unless the old ones had mega clearance, you have to measure stuff to know.
