I looked at a Super H this morning at a farm sale that will be starting on Monday (yeah, kind'a strange time to start it?). It has nearly new tires front and back, about a year old with no more than 10 hours on them. Rear wheels are in very good condition w/weights. Sheet metal is really straight, original 6 volt, has the proper hydraulics, no working brakes, starts and runs good, but needs carb gone through, has gauges that work, as well as charging properly. The folks are asking $2000 for it. I thought it was high, but with less than 20,000 made? What do you all think. I would buy it to keep for an investment while using it.

I think that price is right in the ball park, especially with same as new tires and everything else working good. The carburetor is a relatively minor issue.

Around here that would be a good price for a stage II. You said proper hydraulics, do you mean live? Brakes should be a faily easy not expensive fix (earlier post). I see H"s going for that.

Farmall H's going/selling for $2000? I see them all the time around here in N. Texas for $1200-$1500 (this one has a front end loader? My buddy bought a great running Super H, with the 269ci. motor out of a later Farmall, a 350 I guess, with three point and dual hydraulics at a farm sale for $1050??? I guess prices vary accross the country.

Whats the difference between Stage I and II? It has the hyraulic pump that comes off the front gears with two steel lines, behind the distributor, with a cast iron reserve tank under the gas tank. Just has the single rod that operates the hydraulics though. Serial number range is in the SH 20,100 I believe.

You described a Stage 2. That's not a reserve tank, that's the only tank. H's and Stage 1 Super H's use the belly pump reservoir, on Stage 2's the belly is empty except for the transmission shaft. I paid $2250 for Stage 2 three years ago.
