The loader on my H works well but with a heavier load it does not have enough power to lift.Right now both cylinders are connected to the front conection on the left side. Would it have more power if I hook the right cylinder to the outlet on the right side? Thanks for any help with this problem. I tryed changing the oil. It helped alittle. Joe

Maybe the pump needs alittle help. I've only had it for a year. Don't know what work has ever been done on her. Thanks for all the input Joe

Joe,

Is this a small loader? I just can't imagine an H's hydraulic system running a loader anyway.

Allan

Allen, you underestimate the power of that belly pump. I have a McCormick #31 on an H, plugged into the belly pump. It has very seldom refused tp pick up anything I ask it to, and a few of those things were heavy enough that I should not have tried it. My dad had an H with the same kind of loader, and several times we picked up and moved 1,500# large round bales. The hydraulic system never complained.

The hydraulic outlets on the left side and the right side are connected internally with a common pipe, so connecting one loader cylinder to the other side will have very little, if any, effect. It sounds to me like the pressure relief valve in the pump is probably weak, and there is something else that I can't remember right now that will cause the same problem. Those hydraulic pumps are pretty simple devices. A good manual will guide you through the repairs that are needed.

Hooking to a seperate line will not help it lift more. What type of oil did you put into the hydraulic pump? I would suggest strait 30 weight oil. That is what is supposed to be in it. It helped my M out a lot with the heavy lifting.

6qts of the 30 weight is what I used. It did help some.

The only other thing that I can think of is to put a gage on it and check the pressure. I think the early lift-all pumps only produced about 750 lbs of pressure. Not sure about the later ones.
