What is the best way to remove the head studs from the block of the A?

I've got a sears stud remover, peice of crap.
Won't work if the stud is too big or to small.

I used the stud remover sold at Sears and worked great without chewing up studs. Craftsman 1/2 inch drive tool. I'm not sure what they cost new, mine was used when I bought it.

Stud remover will do less damage than a pipe wrench. Sears has them
