E-12 Carb on My M

I started taking the carb apart for a rebuild, this thing was in the worst condition I have ever seen a carb in. I ran into two problems. (1) I can't get the clogged main jet out. (2) I can't get the idle get out either.

The rebuild kit says it comes with jets and I would like to be able to clean the entire carb. How do I get these two jets out of the carb?

If the main metering tube is stuck you have a real problem. Most likely the well that it sits into is full of rust and crud. The idle jet probably will not come out in one piece, it will twist off and then you will be searching for the proper size drill bit so you can remove what is left of the jet, and then you will need the proper size of tap to clean up the threads so that you can install the new jet. If the well is full of crud, the idle jet has to be removed in order to clean out all the crud that is in there.
It can be done. I just recently rebuilt one that was every bit as bad or worse. It now looks like a brand new carburetor.

I got the main metering block is out. The main jet on the other hand I do not know how to get out. I have a good set of taps so I will try to get the idle jet out. How does the main jet get removed? The whole inside out the carb has a thick layer of varnish on it from gass sitting in there for many years. The gas came out like mollassas and it stunk with a funny smell.

Main jet is pressed in,if you have a set of numbered drill bits you can carefully clean it in the carb.If the passage is stopped up past the jet, its realy not going to help much to take jet out as you won't be able to get to most of it. Put it in carb cleaner for a day or so and try air pressure. Not sure without checking, But going by memory I think the stock main is in the .052 to .055 size range.
