What was original - B?

Need to order a new seat for my B. What was the original cover? I see my choices are silver vinyl, silver canvas, or red/white vinyl.
I have a restored H with the silver canvas which looks nice and original, but shows dirt and greasy hand marks easily.
Any suggestions?

The first ones were black, I don't know when IH changed to silver, perhaps not till the mid-late 40's. Red and white is aftermarket, never used by IH. Although canvas was original, it does not hold up very well and is hard to clean. I prefer silver vinyl. Many suppliers have those and there are people who can redo an old seat -- but I usually just buy the whole thing.

The first new B in our neighborhood was in the summer of 41 and it was the silver canvas and of the Bs aound here never seen a black one although it is featured in adds on both Bs and As but they are old and the one is advertising the A CULTIVISION but the tractors shown in the add not one had the CULTIVISION decal. Probably some of you have seen this flyer that was sent in the mail by the dealer.

I believe that the B's would have had black seats as standard, the silver came later. I know a few years ago you could get silver vinyl seats but I haven't seen them advertised in a while. I think Darrell Darst still does seats in either silver or black canvas.
