New bearings and brushes will be a whole bunch less expensive than a new or rebuilt starter, and buying a used starter is a crap shoot, it will probably need to be rebuilt also.

I just put new brushes in a starter for my SM. A whooping $2.24!! I wouldn"t think the bearings would be much more. The Bendix would be the only expensive part if you needed that at about $30.

Re: farmall h starter cheap - I agree! in reply to Brian Schmidt, 05-30-2006 08:21:28
I agree with Rusty and Brian. A new set of bushings AND brushes will probably set you back $15 altogether. And in all likelihood they will make your starter work like new.
