I have purchased a 656 D row crop it has 18.4 x 34 rears on it. the whell is filled in not the spokes like a regular farmall. I plan on changing it over to 13.9's or 15.5's x 38 so I can go down the potato row... What hubs will fit on this, as I want to find some to change this over.

I can get you half way there. I have one from a 544. The other one was cracked and ended up in the scrap pile.

Thomas,

Sounds like someone has installed a set of factory duals in place of the regular wheels?

The "pullers" are always doing this to "loose" weight.

Any wheel/hub/clamp off a 560, 656, 666 or 686 ought to fit, hadn't it?

Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong.

Allan

Thanks for the reply, I don't think they have pulled it and looking at some old lit on the 656's it looks like some of them came with the wide 34 inch tires.. This came of a horse farm a 656 and 544 traded in on a new utility..I hope it turns out okay I have always wanted a 656 I am farming now with a H and two cubs...I sold my MF diesels a couple years ago and miss the hp so I have got what I always wanted the IH 656...I am 52 years old so I figured better get her...

Good for you, Thomas.

Went with my banker friend last week to look at a 656 that he was considering buying and he had asked for my opinion on the old heifer.

Wish I would have spotted it first. Boy! Did I ever want that tractor; just can't get any better than the 656s!

But, me thinks I got too many now. :>)

I agree with ya tho, sure think I'd get those fat tires off of 'er; think a 14.9 or a 15.5 X 38 would be just perfect. Good luck with the find!

Allan

The axles from 400, 450 and all those that Allan mentioned are all the same diameter, You should be able to keep those hubs though since the 9 bolt pattern is the same on all pressed wheels be it 34 or 38. Just look for a set of 14 x 38 inch pressed wheels and mount the 14.9 or 15.5 tires on them and you can keep the others for spares. The 14 pressed wheels usually run about 200 a pair around here.
