Just wanted to share with all of you about a problem I was having with my charging system. Standard 6 volt. Anyway I ran a direct wire to ground from my generator and put a manual switch near the dash. So now I turn the generator on and off from full charge when I feel the battery needs some juice. So I wanted to let all of you having problems know how my tractors been starting up just like a 12 volt. Yes it may cause me to buy a new battery a little sooner. But that beats hand cracking.

Surplus Center has many Ohmite variable resistors for a reasonable sum.

If you want to control it manually, you can get a surplus power rheostat of 20 Ohms, or so, and "dial in" the charging rate you want... no need to have full charge, or no charge.

wow even better. Is this an auto part rheostat or household dimmer switch. Any idea where to get one or part number? Appreciate the help. Thanks
