We did the final power wash yesterday, I thought anyway. Finish removing caked on grease and dirt off the oil pan, and surprise, pan has an oil leak. Also lots of dents at the rear of pan. So we removed oil pan, then I could see where someone had did some extensive brassing on it. I removed all dents, now I need to find the leak in the upper part near lip.

One good thing, inside of pan and underside of engine are extremely clean, also had a new gasket. I think Shawn has lucked out on this tractor.

I have some industrial brass epoxy, will it be alright to use it inside the pan after I clean pan with soap and water, then sand it? Thanks

Alright Keith! I'm starting the work on my SC. When I bought it, it came with an "extra" engine. The extra engine turned out to be the original engine that had half of the teeth missing on the cam gear (from problems with the hydraulic pump). I got a new cam gear. I also just had a puller made for the crank pulley. The next step is to pull the pulley and replace the cam gear. Then I'll need to check the rest of the engine and install it in the tractor. The engine that is in the tractor now? I think it is a C-113 because it is shorter than original. This tractor's mama must have mated with an A.

Chris, did you use the pattern I posted a while back for the puller? If so you should make the bar to push the pulley back on the crank. It is a lot easier using hydraulic jack to install, rather than beating pulley back on.

I don't think I have as before, where you located in Washington?

Hi Keith, yes I used the pattern from the pulley puller that you posted. Rather than try to use a torch to cut things out myself, I took the pattern to a machine shop and they plasma cut the plate. Rather than buy the drills and tap, I had them do that too. It turned out beautiful but cost a chunk of money. As far as using a bar to push the pulley back on, you lost me on that one. What are you threading it into, the front of the engine? What kind of bar and what dimensions? I live outside of Sequim, Washington, a stones throw from Victoria BC, Canada. How about you? Are you near Pendleton?
