Just a little update and with something sorta interesting to me was my project with the IH LB 3-5 HP engine. It was frozen up solid. The fellow who had it gave it to me after soaking it for 6 months with Transmission fluid and could not get it broken loose. Took head off, stood it on its end and filled the cylinder with muratic acid and let it sit for 2 days...then flushed it. Put a block of wood in there and jarred it and it came right out. I honed the cylinder...was pitted somewhat. Shopped around and got rings...welded the cracked head, lapped the valves..checked the main bearings...tore the magneto apart and cleaned it...it worked. Spent a day getting the timeing just right [the directions said it was simple :-)] At first it did not want to run...turned out that the plug had too much gap in it...now the dang thing runs like a sewing machine. Once it gets hot, it is almost impossible to restart it because of the compression...it starts on the first turn over....This has been an interesting and exciting project...and the one saving grace is that It has a very nice RED paint job. :-) eventhough it is not on a tractor.

I've got one of those LB's also, & need to get it out & running. I'm needing a valve cover for it & will have to do some looking. I heard one of those engines running at the fair once, & they do sound so smooth.
