I'd like to purchase one of the rebuilt carbs from the new parts section here at YT. This is for my Farmall M. It looks like there's three different carbs listed. Can anyone help me identify which one I need? The carb that I took off the tractor has the old IHC logo stamped in it along with the following in raised letters on the bowl. "6514 DA" Can someone tell me which rebuilt carb I need?
Thanks
DJL

Yes I agree you must contact RUSTY FARMALL first before you buy one. If he does not answer email me and I will give you his email adress. farmallmagneto@wmconnect.com

any of those carbs would work DJL. where the confusion comes in is IH had jetting for optimised fuel economy and power, then guys would overhaul and maybe put in oversized pistons and increased compression, then maybe the mechanic would change the carb to compensate, maybe not. Then years go by and repairs are done til who knows what is matched up in these old machines. even looking at the number on you carb does not nessasarily tell you what might be in it.

Thanks Cowman! Went out to the garage, and with a little carb cleaner and a rag, there it was, just where you said. Thanks for the photo and help.
Here's the next question: On the carb that I took off, the tag reads 50983DC. On the rebuilt carbs here on YT, there's 3 choices. The closest choice says it replaces 50983DB. Do you know what the difference between DB and DC are? Will this one work?
Thanks
DJL

I the letter is just a later revision. You should be safe to ignore it.

Look near the top and there should be a tiny round brass tag. The number on this one is 47387DB
