Me and my Dad just got a IH F856-d-CU, Serial 21474-S-Y I belive. can anyone give me est. year,HHP, pto HP. Looks to be in real good shape , been in a neighbors barn long time.

The "CU" after the model number means that it's a Custom model. IH built Custom versions of the 756 and 856 to compete with Deere's 4000, which was just a stripped down 4020. Differences between a 856 Custom and a regular 856 include one headlight in each fender instead of two, a smaller air cleaner, one hydraulic control valve (although many Customs have had the second valve added, and many regular 856's were ordered with only one control valve), and many Customs had 16.9x38 tires from the factory.

Well it should be real close to 100 ponyes weather they are all liven or not don't know . But It also may have been tweeked and then who knows , If it will stand 6 inches of fire out the pipe at night and ya ain't got any skeeters with in a mile then she a good one .

According to the serial # referenceon the left side of this page, you have a 1969 model.
Other info I do not know.
