1066 TA getting weak?

My 1066 has the good life. It plants about 75 acres of corn in the spring and pulls a few wagons in the fall. Less than 30 hours/year.

While planting this spring, I pulled the TA lever back just to get the Hy-tran circulating through-out. When I moved the lever forward, the shift paused for a split second and then she jumped like a race horse from the gate. I'm not certain, but this may happen only when the Hy-tran is good and warm.

Is the TA going out? Need some adjustment somewhere? Is the parking brake adjustment somehow related to proper TA operation?

Well first ya need to make sure that the shift valve is going all the up and all the way down . Then ya need to do a clutch adjustment , dump valve adjustment and a transbrake adjustment , then ya need to put the gauges to it to see what ya have for pressures , the one you can do if ya have a 600 lb gauge and the fitting the other pressure test ya have to have the special test spool and that is something that not many have . If it is grabing on the low side with out stopping then the T/A is not out . Also you are not shifting to the high side fast enough , shift it like your mad at it . If you want more info let me know as i guess i am the local GURU on the newer stuff.

Ours does the same thing. IH mechanic told us the TA was going bad. Most of the time the TA works just fine, but every once in awhile pulling the handle back stops her dead in her tracks. It always jumps like yours when it is shifted forward.
