I can't answer about the loader, but the rear lift has a check valve to hold it up. It's located on the bottom of the valve that operates the lift(rear valve). These sometimes allow the lift to leak down whan they get some debris inside which holds a valve open.

Yup water in the oil or low oil or pooped pump or the worst one. You may need to take the seat top off of the reservoir body. Very heavy cast iron and needs a lot of care getting it off. There is a bronz screen filter in there that gets full of grass trash or teflon tape and all kinds of other crud. Nice all day job with a good friend to help. Hope you have a chain hoist and a good size shade tree! Jeffcat

Check the oil level in the reservoir. If it is terribly foamy, it has excessive water in it and will need to be drained. That will cause poor performance also.

Does your loader use the tractor hydraulics or a front mount hydraulic pump? If it is the later, there should be a seperate oil reservoir. The location of the reservoir varies depending on loader manufacture, but is often in a portion of the frame.

Hope this helps.

not lifting and bucket dropping could be low flow from hydraulic pump, hitch not holding three possible causes cylinder leaking , spool leaking (worn out), relief valve leaking
