I have a 806 diesel with the 56 series shift. Went to back up and there is no reverse, the linkage moves just fine all the way down to the parking brake lock. Feels like a key or a roll pin has broke or fell out, but I don't know where to start looking, the linkage all works fine up above, and the H-L side works good, so does the 1-4, could use some help in locating this problem and how to get at it. Thanks

Could be linkage, could be under the range transmission cover. Start by removing the operators platform and inspecting the linkage. Could be that the pin fell out where the vertical linkage hooks to the rod or where the rod hooks to the arm on top of the reverse shifter shaft going into the range transmission cover. If you see nothing wrong there, remove the range transmission top cover and inspect the reverse shifter shaft, the reverse shift fork, and the reverse shift collar.

I removed the platform last night, and I found the pin had jumped out on the linkage at the top of the reverse shaft, made me happy, I don't have to tear into the trans. Thanks
