Hey guys,

I have yet another question with my Turboed Frankenstein M project. I am hunting an oil supply for the turbo and the old governor line is just in the perfect location. However, I dont know if it is a pressure feed or just a drainback from the heads. I suspect the latter, but I am wondering if someone can varify that for me. I dont want to pull the valve cover if I dont have to just to check that.

Thanks for the help guys.

If anyone wants, I can post a pic of the piping mess I have made:D.

That tube is the breather for the governor housing - no oil (pressurized or otherwise...) flows thru it.

You might be able to tap a pressurized oil supply by installing a tee in the oil pressure gage port. However I'm uncertain whether it will supply the volume required to lube a turbo.

Or try the drain plug opening in the oil filter base. Seems to me - though I'm not certain - this point is located hydraulically between the oil pump and the oil filter element. Ie. tapping here would provide unfiltered oil direct from the pump. But be careful about drawing too much flow and not leaving enough for the rest of the engine!!
