Just about time I need to use this plug, the carburator decides to lay down. So, after I get it off and find out just which kit it takes..... I need to know if there is anything to pay special attention too and what are the initial adjustments. I think the more I fix, the more that breaks! Still haven't figured a good fix for the lateral slop in the front cultivator gangs either....the last 53 years have been hard ones.

Getting the bolts free to tighten the yokes are the biggest problem. Usually with a little lube and the joints tighter the lateral play can be fixed.Too bad operator didnt believe in some oil for the joints when it was new.I always took care of that guess thats why the lift assy for the exhaust system worked that good. No adjustments on the carb outside of float setting.

gene,

I suspicion that after the first 4 or 5 years, the onwer(s) forgot what a greasegun, oil can and proper wrenches were. From there on, it was add some oil when it failed to run out the petcock, grab a pair of pliers and a hammer for all repairs and to hell with grease and oiling. I will have to say, it appears they at least kept it in the barn.
