On the metal hood emblems that say "Farmall" with either the words "McCormick" or "McCormick International" above it, when did they change from just McCormick to McCormick International? On a certain model series or year or?
thanks

I think you are talking about the decal that goes on the sides of the hood? I am not sure when the change was made, sometime before 1946, might have been earlier.

Where have you seen tractors with metal emblems that said "McCormick International" above the Farmall?

They didn't start using metal emblems until 1955, with the 300/400 series, and those said McCormick. In 1957, they introduced the 350/450 series, but the emblems didn't change.

That leaves only two other series of tractors with metal Farmall emblems: The '60 series from 1959-1963, and the '06 series from 1963-1967. After that, the metal emblems said INTERNATIONAL on all tractors, and the McCormick name was dropped from the badging on tractors.

I can't get a clear picture in my head of the emblems on '60 or '06 series tractors, but I do remember seeing McCormick. Don't recall seeing International, though I may be wrong.

My friend has an emblem that came in a box of auction junk that looks just like a 400/450/504/560 metal emblem saying McCormick except for having the McCormick International across the top. We were curious what this is off from?

The emblems for the 400/450 are vastly different from the 560 and 504 emblems. On the 400/450, they're stainless and the "McCormick" and "Farmall" pieces are separate. On the newer tractors, it's one piece, and aluminum.

For the 560 and other '60 series, I believe the emblem was bare aluminum with black lettering.

For the 504 and other '06 series, the emblem was black with white lettering as I recall.

The more I think about this, the more things I'm remembering. Dad had an Super M, a 560 and a 756 when I was little. Grandpa had an 806. I remember looking the four tractors over, comparing differences and similarities, and seeing how IH gradually transitioned from the old to the new. One of the things I seem to recall is how IH transitioned from "McCormick Deering Farmall" to just "International" on the hood.

I think the '06 series is where they started using "McCormick International," in order to transition to the "International" emblems on the 1206 and the '56 series.

The Farmall 706, 806, 1206 said McCormick Farmall on the emblem. The International 706, 806, and 1206 said McCormick International on the emblem. I believe this was also true on the Farmall & International 404 & 504, the International 606, and the early Farmall 656.

I bet you & Nat 2 are real close about the 06 series starting with the two names then going to the International. I know the 504 was not that way as I had one and restored it. It had just the McCormick like a 560!
Nat's right & my bad about the 400/450 emblems totally different.
thanks, guys in trying to straghten me out!
