M cam gear

I'm ready to put my cam gear on but cant see a mark to line up the crank. I cleaned it really well but cant see a mark. What am I missing?

It should have a single punch mark and a double punch mark. The single punch on the cam gear should line up with the single punch mark on the crankshaft gear. The double punch on the cam gear should line up with the double punch marks on the mag gear. Hal

Ben - On the Super M the cam gear timing marks are pretty faint - just a pair of punch marks located 180 deg apart on the front side of the gear. Gotta think an M gear is similar.

Viewing the front face of the cam gear with the keyway positioned at 6 o'clock, the timing marks will be close to the 3 and 9 o'clock. (Punch below for a photo...)

The MARK as it should be a dimple on the gear on the flat part by the teeth and if it is gone then HUSTON YOU GOT A BIG PROBLEM.
