Pre-cleaner jar

Hi;
I"m trying to remove a stuck pre-cleaner jar from the metal part. can any one give me some sujestions? I don"t see any mecanical lock of any kind. Does it unscrew counter clock wise?

Another thing to try. Take the whole unit and put it in a big pot of water. Pot on the stove and SLOWLY heat it up to a nice simmer. Not a rolling boil; that is too hot. Remember that is a canning jar and is made to take the heat. Lift it out with tongs and give her a try. Jeffcat

And don't use a filter wrench like I did, my original jar ended up in pieces : (

You might try running some penetrating fluid into the threads of where the jar screws on. Tip the unit upside down and soak the heck out of it. If you have a neoprene hammer handy, tap lightly on the outside of the metal thread portion but let the penetrant work and do its thing. It is just grown together from time, dirt, and rust.

If you were looking up at it from the bottom... Yes.

It has regular threads like a Mason jar or a standard bolt.
