Thanks to all in helping me rewire my M. She's charging fine and running smooth. I started her up last night just to watch the amp gauge move and notice that a pretty good spray of water came from the exhaust. Now, I've had this kindof problem before. We got the head reworked and a new gasket. What could be causing water to be I assume in the cylinders?

Do not panic!!!
The combustion of gasoline burns hydrogen in the fuel (a hydro carbon) byrnt hydrogen is water.) Think of the water you have seen dripping out of the tailpipe of your car. Until it is warmed up, the vapor condenses in the exhaust pipe and gets blown out the stack as droplets. It is unlikely to be a problem at all. if it smells bad, looks white, is loosing coolant, and over heating, then worry.
Go for it,
JimN

Let it sit for a day or two. Pull the sparkplugs and, while watching the holes with an eagle eye, have someone crank it (in neutral) with the ign. and choke and gasoline turned off. If water comes out of a plug hole it has issues with a leak that will require pulling the head at least. If none comes out you are good to go.

It is absolutely possible this is the issue. If you are smelling antifreeze at all or the water is excessive I would be worried. I also got the idea it was blowing water as soon as it fires off. If that is the case, the condensate arguement does not work. It will take just a bit for the water to condense, and in all actuality the water usually does not condense much in an exhaust with a very short pipe. In a car you have cold pipe at the rear of the vehicle that causes the water to condense out much like water on a cold window in the winter time.

It blows water as soon as it fires. Starts fine and blows water about 15 seconds. Also, a little white smoke comes out when it fires up. Does not smoke at all after that. I'll run it an hour or two and the temp gauge never gets higher than cold. Do I need to put a sealant in the engine?

It takes more than just sitting there idling for a few minutes to make the temperature gauge needle move. The tractor could sit there all day like that and the needle wouldn't budge.

When the needle goes to RUN or even HOT while the tractor is just sitting there idling... Now THAT is something to worry about.

Water... Are you sure it's water? Do you have antifreeze in the radiator with the coolant water? Does the water spray smell sickly sweet?

Before you panic and start dumping sealants and other such nonsencial crud into the engine that will plug up the water passages, determine if this is really coolant, or condensation.

I am going to pull the plugs tonight and see if the cylinders are wet first. Like I said, its not much water but I just got finished with it and I want it to be right. How bad would it hurt if I put something like K&W block seal in the engine?

Well, you have passed my expertise level on this engine. If we were talking cars I would offer something, but these antique tractor engines are new to me at this point.

I will say that by your description I think you have some seaping from the head or head gasket for one reason or another. It could be from a warped or cracked head in the worst case. It could also be that the head gasket just needs to be pulled and resealed.

I am sure one of the experts will give more solid advice.

Head Gasket problems most likely. Unless it is possible that your rain cap is leaking somehow. One way or another you will want to fix it soon and not let it set.
