Hey my name"s Josh and I"m a senior in high school and I"ve posted here a few times, but this time it"s about a 756...

Well then right to it..for the last few years my dad"s 756 has been leaking water into the oil, we weren"t real sure what the problem was, because it would sometimes happen and just go away after a while...My dad"s brother is a mechanic so he had him overhaul the motor this spring replacing almost everything which included rebuilding the injection pump and tweaking it up to close to 100 HP...We got the tractor back about a week ago and before we had even done anything with it we noticed fuel leaking straight out of the injection pump, so we brought it back over to get it looked at, and my uncle found that there was already a lot of water in the oil...which means take it all back apart and start looking for a new block most likely...does a guy ever catch a break?

Is the block probably the problem? Where could a guy come across one? We"ve looked, but there just aren"t really any around here in eastern South Dakota..

And I thought restoring my Super M could be frustrating at times, but at least it"s a fun learning experience!

We appreciate the comments and help, and really enjoy the advice and tips you people provide..THANKS

Josh & Wayne

Same thing happened to me. My idiot mrchanic was careless when he installed one sleeve. Not sure what happened but had to replace on O ring which fits between the sleeve and the block. (there are three per cylinder). It's been running like a champ ever since. Good luck.

First pull the oil pan and get yourself a cooling system pressurizing pump and see where the water is coming from. The most common place for a german to leak is the sleeve seals. I assume you put in new sleeves? If not did you carefully examine them for pinholes? Was the groove in the block were the sleeve oring goes perfectally clean with no defects? Did you use dish soap when you installed the sleeves if you didn't or used oil you probilly rolled an oring. Was the head resurfaced and pressure tested? Kraut blocks are not knowen for cracking so I bet your leak is in the sleeve or head area. Good Luck!!

I think you should find the source of the leak before you go looking to hard for a way to spend more money . If it turns out to be a unrepairable block then I'm sure a lot of folks on here will keep their eye out for a block for you . It could be a number of different things from a warped head to a torn head gasket to ??? Ya just need to find it first . Irritating at the least frusrating at best . Was the block pressure tested ? That usually finds the cracks if there are any . Does that block have sleeves , wet or dry ? If it does have sleeves is there supposed to be any sleeve protrusion above the block ? Just some thoughts because when my Oliver had to be rebuilt it was for the same thing . It turned out that one of the sealing o-rings on a sleeve had dried out and gotten hard . Dried out o-rings won't be your problem but maybe one got twisted or cut during assembly ( if it has them that is ) . Have patience and Good luck ! ...Randy
