Hey Guys, I don"t usually come across a tractor like this and so forth don"t pay much attention to the value. I have been told they made about 1,200 of these in 53 before going to the super"s. What is one in original shape (running and good tin, original paint) with new tires all around and fenders worth? I know it all depends on where at in the u.s. or how bad someone wants one but curious of stories you guys have heard.

Nope its not the one from Iowa, hadn't heard of things going that high! lol I enjoy working on older tractors and then selling them or adding them to my collection. I am selling a 460 that I overhauled recently on the net now. I am in the midwest. Thanks for the info guys.

Is this the SH that sold at auction west of Hiway 17 a month ago in Iowa.Didn't it bring about 2850.That didn't shock me as much as the single bottom #8 plow that sold for 850 That whole sale was way to high for me

You want sticker shock ? Go to Ironsearch.com and check out what the dealers want for H's ! 2850 is real cheap in comparison . The H's I looked at today on that site were going for more than the M's , is that normal ?

My guess would be some where between $800-1500 but thats here in Missouri. If its real nice maybe a little more, the fenders make it worth a little more since 90% of them don't have fenders

Basically what you have is still an H. Doesn't make any difference if it was built in 1939 or 1953, it is still an H. An early '39 may have slightly higher collector appeal, and the same goes for the '53, but I sure wouldn't plan on the appeal of either one being enough to plan my retirement around.

stories... well all I can do is say what I would pay. And this is from a mechanic/hobbyist view-point, not in the agricultural business myself.

I would pay maybe 1600, maybe...

The best market for these tractors is NOT to hobbyist mechanics like me who get them running in decent shape again.

Best market is to actual land owners who NEED a solid tractor.

Sold a 52 M I rebuilt the engine on, for 2500 to a landowner who needed to pull a brush hog.

Just a tip on who appreciates a solid machine. And that is usually the guy in the field.
