I came across a 606 with the engine bad. I was wondering if a person could swap out the engine with a 706 since I think I could find those easier than a 606. Or would it be easier to just rebuild the original 606 engine, and how much would it cost, roughly? Thanks for the help. Travis.

The engine on ebay is bare bones, no carb, governor, ignition, flywheel, ect.. Can I take those parts off the bad engine and make a whole one?

I have a neighbor with a 606 gas. He thought the 221 cu was alittle under powered so he put in a crank and rods from a 706. Same block, head and pistons as I recall. 706 crank has alittle longer stroke is all as far as I know. Turned his 221 into a 263 pretty cheap. Might even be the same rods. Someone else will know.

The 606 has the same engine as the 460 utility. I don't know if there is any difference between the 460 row crop and the 460 utility engine. Our 606 gas cost over $5,000 last year to have an out of frame overhaul.
