YTers,

Did IHC revise the recommended head bolt torque from the original service manual?

When retorquing the head bolts, do you just tighten them when warm, or loosen then retighten them?

I have a little oil seep from the head gasket area, not much, hasn't even reached the bottom of the block to drip. Think the head retorque will take care of it? Less than 10 hours on the rebuild.

Thanks guys. Hoping to plow this weekend.

Bill

80 ft lbs. As to the tighening I have seen various ways reported as "correct". I run it, then tighten the bolts/nuts when warm. I think the theory behind the loosening first is that it takes a smooth motion to get them tightened properly. It may take more torque to get the nut/bolt to begin to move if it was not loosened first, giving a false reading, leaving it under torqued.
